Browser Technology Stack

Earlier, I wrote about the W3C’s Technology Stack diagram and how little it would have in common with a a diagram for the stack one might draw for a contemporary browser.

I took a quick attempt at drawing a stack for Web browsing:

Browser stack is built around JavaScript, DOM and CSS

There should probably be something about geolocation and platform APIs on the top left. Also, there should be an XSLT box inside the XML box, but I couldn’t make it fit nicely.

Second attempt

Browser stack is built around JavaScript, DOM and CSS. Now with platform APIs, Unicode and more detailed media formats
